Salvacosta
Originally signified
“Salvationists from the South
coast”. Now however, it’s members
include former Salvationists who
still have an affinity with “The
Army”.
In
the year 2000, Darren was approached
with a request to form a vocal group
to raise money for a Salvation Army
centre in Worcester. What started as
a “one-off” event spiralled into a
series of concerts including several
fund-raisers for local Charities and
SA building schemes.
Salvacosta’s musical style has been
developed under the innovative
direction of Darren, who composes
and arranges all of their music.
Their repertoire includes some
traditional choral, Gospel and
Musical Theatre, always with an
emphasis on secular music with a
message, such as Bridge over
troubled water. Special mention and
thanks go to the extraordinary
talents of Alvin Allison who shares
his gift of music with remarkable
artistry on the keyboards.
