Darren Marc Bartlett
|
With a diversity
of talents, including vocal and
Piano, Darren is also a
recognised choral composer and
his published works include
arrangements for choirs, solo
voice, piano and ensembles. He
has written over 100
compositions and arrangements,
many being used on BBC radio and
television. Darren has also
written three, full length stage
musicals.
His musical
career has taken him extensively
on several overseas trips plus
numerous UK appearances on
National stages such as Wembley,
the Queen Elizabeth, the Royal
Festival Hall, the Royal Concert
Hall Glasgow, Manchester’s
Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham
Symphony Hall and the Royal
Albert Hall. His USA venues
include Minneapolis, Chicago,
New York, Los Angeles, San Diego
and San Francisco. His
far-travelled career has also
taken him to Canada and his
European appearances include
Amsterdam and Lisbon.

Darren received his early
musical education in the
Salvation Army and more
recently, trained with Ian Adam,
who is considered by many to be
Britain’s premier voice coach.
Darren is
much in demand both as a
vocalist and as an
arranger/composer and has worked
with various Choirs including
the Glasgow Phoenix Choir/Llandaff
Cathedral Choir/Cantorion
Creigian (Cardiff) and has
received commissions from Choirs
throughout the world.
A member of The
International Staff songsters and
former deputy leader of the Southern
Youth Chorus, he provides much of
the repertoire for each group. His
music has also been featured by the
Amsterdam Staff Songsters. Darren
has recently been appointed as
Songster Leader (Choral Director) to
the Boscombe Corps of The Salvation
Army.
Darren also
directs his own vocal harmony group
Salvacosta.
In 2003 Darren was
featured on BBC’s Songs of Praise
along side the Swedish Gospel
singer, Annika Hansson.

More
recently
Darren wrote the music for the BBC
Choirboy of the year, entitled
Song of Peace. This recording
features James Eager, the Llandaff
Cathedral Choir and the BBC National
Orchestra of Wales. This music is
also currently featured by the world
famous Yorkshire Building Society
brass band.
